Behan Dispute Resolution have a team of professional, qualified facilitators. This team is lead by Joe and Ruth who are available as Mediators, Arbitrators, Conciliators and provide Mediation Training. They operate from purpose built premises in South County Dublin and hearings can be held in their offices, if parties so choose.
Joe Behan BE, CEng, FIEI, DLS, FCIArb
Joe is the international President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a past Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Irish Branch). He is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Engineers Ireland, council member of the Irish Commercial Mediation Association and a former Board Member and Treasurer of Mediators Institute Ireland.
Joe is a Director of J P Behan Associates Consulting Engineers.
He is an experienced practitioner in mediation, conciliation, arbitration and adjudication.
Joe sits on many professional ADR panels of mediators, conciliators and arbitrators for bodies such as the Law Society, Engineers Ireland, Construction Industry Federation, Mediators Institute Ireland, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Eirgrid and the Private Residential Tenancies Board.
His practice specialist areas are commercial and family mediation as well as arbitration and conciliation.
He is involved in change management solutions for both individuals and organisations.
Joe is course director, tutor and assessor in mediation and arbitration training with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Joe is a certified mediator with the International Mediators Institute (IMI), practitioner member of Mediators Institute Ireland (M.I.I.), Fellow mediator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and accredited mediator with CIArb.
Joe also delivers mediation training programmes around the world including modules at Maynooth University in Ireland.
Ruth Behan B.A. Dip MED, Dip Psych, ACIArb
Ruth is an experienced Mediator in both the commercial and family sectors and has extensive experience as a professional Trainer. She has over 20 years experience in business management. She has a private practice in Psychotherapy and Couple Counselling spanning 15 years. She is an approved tutor in Mediation with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Ruth has recently been appointed an International Trainer with Psychology of Vision.
She has an innate ability to listen to understand and engage conflicting parties in all areas of dispute resolution. Through her broad skill base she provides innovative interaction in dispute resolution and training programmes.
