Behan Dispute Resolution have a team of professional, qualified facilitators. This team is lead by Joe and Ruth who are available as Mediators, Arbitrators, Conciliators and provide Mediation Training. They operate from purpose built premises in South County Dublin and hearings can be held in their offices, if parties so choose.

Joe has recently been appointed the International President Elect of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is the immediate past Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Irish Branch); he is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Engineers Ireland; a Council member of the Irish Commercial Mediation Association and a former Board member and Treasurer of Mediators Institute Ireland. He has completed the Advanced Training in Mediation & Training Alternatives (2002).
Joe is also the Director of J P Behan Associates Consulting Engineers as well as Behan Dispute Resolution. He is an experienced Practitioner in mediation, conciliation and arbitration.
Joe sits on many professional ADR Panels for bodies such as the Law Society, Engineers Ireland, Construction Industry Federation, Mediators Institute Ireland, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Eirgrid, Private Residential Tenancies Board and Dublin City Council.
He is a practitioner member of Mediators Institute Ireland and a Council Member of Irish Commercial Mediation Association. His practice specialist areas are commercial and family mediation as well as arbitration and conciliation.
He is involved in change management solutions for both individuals and organisations. He acts as Course Director, Tutor and Assessor for CIArb Mediation Training and Assessment. His ADR experience extends to adjudication for the Private Residential Tenancies Board, numerous construction industry conciliations and a varied list of arbitrations.
Ruth Behan B.A. Dip MED, Dip Psych, ACIArb
Ruth is an experienced Mediator in both the commercial and family sectors and has extensive experience as a professional Trainer. She has over 20 years experience in business management. She has a private practice in Psychotherapy and Couple Counselling spanning 15 years. She is an approved tutor in Mediation with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Ruth has recently been appointed an International Trainer with Psychology of Vision.
She has an innate ability to listen to understand and engage conflicting parties in all areas of dispute resolution. Through her broad skill base she provides innovative interaction in dispute resolution and training programmes.
